Access PEP as a Virtual School User

In order to view the PEP, you must be logged in to Looked After Call.

This guide is for users that have the role of "LA Super User" or "LA User". You can read more about Looked After Call User Roles if you are unsure what this means.

Select "PEP" from the top navigation menu. This will take you to the PEP Admin summary screen.

You can see the list of pupils controlled by a series of filters to quickly identify the information you need to see.

Available filters:

  • Academic Years
    • Shows all PEPs within the selected year.
  • PEP cycle
    • i.e. the academic term (e.g. Summer, Spring)
    • Can be used to greater effect in combination with "Academic Years".
  • Assigned To
    • Allows you to select a Social Worker or Virtual School User so you can see pupils assigned to that user only.
    • Does not include Designated Teachers because those users are linked to schools and not individual pupils.
  • Social Worker
    • Allows you to select a Social Worker so you can see pupils assigned to that user only.
  • Status
    • See PEP Statuses for more information on what this means.
    • Shows only the Pupils who have a PEP with the selected status.
  • RAG
    • Red, Amber, Green status of the PEP
    • Used to quickly see which PEPs needs attention or have been completed already.
  • Key Stage
    • Useful in showing a specific age group of pupil.
  • Search
    • Available search terms cover
      • Pupil's name (in whole or part),
      • School name (in whole or part).
    • Most filters work in combination with each other so if a pupil is not displaying, it may be because the filters and the search box are conflicting with each other

To view the PEP select "Status" in the row for the pupil whose PEP you want to access.

This will take you to the pupil's PEP summary page.

Here you will see basic information about the pupil's PEP:

  1. Pupil's name
  2. PEP cycle (e.g. summer, spring & academic year)
  3. PEP status
    • See PEP Statuses for more information on what this means.
  4. Other PEPs on record

You can see PEP's progress from the PEP sections' pie charts on the left.

  • Each pie chart shows the progress in each section, based on the number of mandatory fields that are completed.
  • It does not take in to account non-mandatory fields!

To view other PEPs on record, in the "Other PEPs on record" pane select "View" button next to the PEP details.

This will load the selected PEP in a new tab.

View a PEP section by selecting it, a section will be displayed available to view or edit depending on the PEP status.

Navigate through the PEP sections using "Back" and "Next" buttons.

Use "PEP home" button to go back to the pupil's PEP summary screen.

To download current or blank PEP, in the "PEP Actions" dropdown select "Export Active PEP" - for current PEP or "Export Blank Active PEP" - for blank PEP.

  • Please note you will need to manually input the data from the paper pep into our site
