Sending a Message

The below will guide you through the process of sending a message in Call Parents

Step-by-step guide

1. Select the people you wish to contact by ticking the box next to their name. Year, Class, House, Saved, MIS, Curriculum and Gender groups can be selected from the menu on the left hand side to help speed up this process. There is also a search field if you are looking for a particular person.

2. Once you have selected your people click Next. Tip - check that the orange People total is correct before proceeding.

 

3. Create the message you wish to send in the message composer. To change the type of message or to send both tick the relevant box(es) under Message Type.

There is an option to allow receipients to reply to an SMS message so if you are expecting a response please tick Allow Reply. This will change the From field to a number rather than your usual SMS header. When a reply is received it will show on the Reporting page.

4. When you are happy with your message click Next.

5. View the summary of what you are about to send. Please make sure that the total number of messages being sent is correct before pressing Send Message

6. If you are happy to send the message now, click Send Message. This will display the message acknowledgement screen.

The message acknowledgement screen advises your message has been submitted and will be sent as soon as possible You are then given 2 options;

  • Send Another Message which will take you back to the Messaging screen and allow you to send another message or,
  • View Delivery Report which will take you to the Reporting page. Note: your message may not show straight away in the report so please be patient.
