Sending a Payment

Sending out a payment request is very similar to sending out a normal SMS or email via General Messaging. The only difference is that you need to have the Payments tab selected.

Step-by-step guide

1. Select the people that the payment is for. You can filter the list down if required by using the filter menus or search box on the left hand side

2. Once you have selected who you wish to send your request to, check the orange People option to make sure this is showing the correct amount and click Next

3. You will now see the Payment Composer. Here you can choose to send the payment by SMS, email, or select both if you want to send it via SMS and email.

4. Payment Title needs to be under 30 characters and is included in the SMS message

5. The Payment Description does not get sent if you have chosen to send an SMS message but it is included on the email as there is no limit on characters for emails.

6. The Message is included in SMS messages and emails. Placeholders are used for the school name, student name, payment amount and the title of the payment item.

7. If the school has more than 1 bank account setup in Call Parents you need to choose the one that you are expecting the funds to be paid into.

8. Payment is the amount you want to charge for the payment request. You have the option for Payment which is a set amount, or you can choose Contribution which allows you to set a minimum amount and maximum amount.

9. When you are happy with the Payment Composer, select Next.

10. View the summary of what you are about to send. Please make sure that the total number of messages being sent is correct before pressing Send Message

11. The message acknowledgement screen advises your message has been submitted and will be sent as soon as possible You are then given 2 options;

  • Send Another Message which will take you back to the Messaging screen and allow you to send another message or,
  • View Delivery Report which will take you to the Reporting page. Note: your message may not show straight away in the report so please be patient.
